Mr Georges approach and coaching style was second to none. I considered his training methods equivalent to that of the Kung Fu masters of the Shaolin Temple. Methodical and in fine detail. But also with a philosophy based around instilling core values and character building. Other than hos famous words "face Ngongotaha" I remember him giving us volleyballers a hard word, stating "If you play like sh*t, then your life is sh*t" That one stuck with me in a good way. Phil made Western Heights a powerhouse of high school volleyball and he will always be remembered for his unbeaten 5 grade A rugby team. I played in his team one season and it was an incredible learning journey about discipline hard work and team work. Thank you Mr George you are a legend. Kia Kaha George family

Great teacher. If you were growled by him 99.99% chance you deserved it. Scary as a 3rd former but soon got to know his ways and how to take him.
