Sending so much love to grant's wonderful family. We may be many miles away but only a heartbeat in remembering you all today as you say your goodbye to such a special man in your lives. Hugs to each and every one of you from you falklands' family xxx
Our first lovely memory is of "Captain Grant" who steered us along the Brecon Canal, Wales, on our first adventure as a Family together in 2012. We have spent such happy times together over the years when Grant and Jan came over to visit. Amy and Jacques wedding and the birth of Thea and Ava brought us closer. We love you and will miss you Grant, we had so many good times together, especially all chatting with a glass of wine playing Catan ❤️ xxx
Dear Uncle Grant My earliest memory of you is when we came to New Zealand for a holiday when I was about 8 years old. You, Aunty Jan and my cousins taught my sister and I how to pick fresh, home grown veggies from your garden, and we tried fresh beetroot for the first time. I wasn’t really a fan of it back then, but every time I eat it now it reminds me of this special moment from my childhood and that I first tried it in your home. All my memories of you as I’ve grown into an adult and a parent myself have included your huge, bright smile, your ability to tell stories and jokes with such personality and vigour, talking with pride and love for your three sons and your beautiful soulmate and wife, Aunty Jan and an always open and everlasting display of love and respect for your four sisters, Aunty Joan, Aunty Anne, my mum Helen and Aunty Mary. Emily and I love you dearly and know that you will be a guardian Angel watching over everyone every day. You will be so dearly missed by so many family and friends. And while I know we all wish you were still with us, I am at peace knowing you no longer suffer from pain and illness. Thank you for being a brilliant husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend, neighbour, teacher and all round awesome man. Sending all the love in the universe to you always and forever. Bridget.
