Fred peacefully passed away on Monday 29 July 2024. Extraordinary and deeply loved husband of Margo, together for 29 years. Adored father and father-in-law of Richard and Susan, the late Christine and Chris Ryan, and Jo.
Cherished Grandpa Fred of Kayla and Andrew Gillick, Kirsty and Cody Bent, Selina and Jesse Johnson, Steven and Hayley Greenville, Jack and Tom Ryan.
Special Great Grandpa Fred of Arlo and Bowen, Layla, Leo and Ivy, Freddie and Blake, and Mia.
Much loved stepfather of the Fowler family; Andrew and Caroline, Louise and Glenn, Dalton and Tessa and Peter and Rebecca and darling Fred to Jackson and Adam, Blake and Teri, Felix, Mackenzie and Ashton, William and Ruby.
A service to Celebrate Fred’s life is to be held at the Tauranga Yacht and Power Boat Club, 90 Keith Allen Drive, Tauranga on Monday 5 August at 1.00 pm.

Sending my thoughts and prayers to Margot, Richard and family . I was lucky enough to have met Fred whilst on one of my trips to New Zealand, and every time I came over, he always made sure Hayley took me up to visit him and Margot. Such a lovely family man. Fred was a good man - he was kind, had a great sense of humour, and was interested in people. I remember having lunch with him a couple of times in Tirau (with my brother Ian) - he was fun to be with, and had easy and friendly conversation. He will be missed. Kind regards Andrew Thorburn
