Lee you will be so sadly missed by so many people, especially me. I will always remember those early days when I was privileged to be able to work & join the family at Piako Post. My dream come true to be able to combine what I loved to do & to work in a newspaper. Lee, you were the one who held us all together & along with Jock you were both trail blazers in the wonderful world of newspapers, when working in that media was an honour & a privilege to be part of that family. Your gentleness, your calmness through any crisis, and there were a few in the newspaper business was incredible. You & Jock both took this “Ozzie” girl under your wings & taught me so much, not only about newspapers but also showed me the beauty & wonder of a loving, caring marriage. My deep condolences to both Phillip & Andrea & your families. Rest in peace Lee, you were a very special lady with a beautiful gentle & loving soul.
On behalf of members of Hamilton Sea of Faith I know Lee will be remembered with great afection for her wonderful support of Jock. It was Lee who always made sure our "cuppa" pre meetings was ready. Her smile put people at ease and so encouraged open conversation with new friends. My wife Barbara was an admirer of Lee, and enjoyed being in her company at our Sea of Faith meetings. Such a loving caring lady will be greatly missed by all who knew her, but for her closest family, the loss will leave an ache that will always be there. This is the wonder of our humanity, that such a loss, also brings a sense of privilege, that such a person has blessed our lives with so much love, and this will always be part of who we are. May you find strength and peace at this time. Michael Templer
