Tributes

For Jackie A light has dimmed, yet not gone far, She shines now as the brightest star. A wife, a mum, a Nana too, A sister loved, so deeply true. Her kindness walked in every room, She lifted hearts, dissolved the gloom. The gentlest smile, a caring hand, She left her love across the land. As a girl I watched, and in her grace, Saw warmth and goodness in her face. A lovely soul, so rare, so kind, A lasting treasure on my mind. Though parting leaves our hearts in pain, Her memory is ours to gain. For Jackie lives in all we do, Her love remains — forever true. Rest in love Jackie Lesley (nee Morgan)

My dearest girl, I’d never experienced the love of a young man (reprobate, me) but the very moment I realised that you had the good taste (with such grace) to gently and quite rightly let me know that I wasn’t the man you had in mind I immediately adopted you as the big sister I never had but always wanted, if Ever the word “Elegant” was meant for someone, it was meant for you, I’ll miss you forever Jack, but times when invaded the “Weymuffs” house for crib or three card brag and old Jackie’s Tim Tams were some of the best ever years of my life, and as Donna, said “give your Mom a hug and a kiss from me, you were and always will be my second Family xxx

So sad for your loss she was such a special person, was part of our family’s life in our early days of our arrival in New Zealand in the 70’s - and right through to recent times too I remember big gatherings down Browns Bay beach.(in the 70’s) weddings, births and sadly funerals. She will be missed xxx

From our times at Sudbury Girls High School and the short while after we left, before you emigrated you were my best friend and I've never found another like you. Your family welcomed me into their hearts when the relationship with my family was difficult and even offered for me to come with you. Our lives mirrored each others, marrying the same year and having our children within weeks of each other. There the similarities changed with you having a wonderful marriage and 4 beautiful granddaughters. Our friendship remained strong though and I loved you like a sister. I treasure all the letters and gifts over the years and thank you for your lasting love, support and a lifetime of memories. Rest now my beautiful lady, until we meet again,. Special thanks to Aaron, Kimberley and Mike for letting me share your goodbye, it was a truly emotional watch but so lovely to see Kevin, Donna and all your families celebrating your life . Love you Jackie xxxx
