Tributes

Uncle Bob was always lively and great to catch up with, as my Dad put, whether it be 1, 5 or 10 years - you always picked up where you left off. He was always interested in what everyone else was doing, and you always felt like the most important person to him when you were with him. I will always miss his laugh and his energy that always put a smile on my face. Rest In Peace.

Bob's visits to London were always a special treat. I knew we were in for stories of his shenanigans that would leave us all in stitches. Although I didn't have a great deal of time to get to know him, living in London, it was clear to me that Bob was a man of unwavering integrity, warmth, hard work, and discipline. He exuded strong principles, setting an example for all of us. I know this because I see these same virtues in his son, Gavin. Bob's passing leaves a void in many hearts. My deepest condolences to all whose lives he touched.

We first met Bob as Gavin’s old man in London whilst they were on tour. He was one of life’s great people, because when we met, it was like we’d known each other for years. Having known and worked with Gavin for a while, it was a familiar warm, loving nature and quick witted sense of humour that shone through, generally at Gavin’s expense (naturally) but it cemented his sense of fun, whenever we did catch up. A true gentleman through and through, who introduced me to the extended Burmingham clan as if I was one of his own… You’ll be surely missed Bob by everyone that loved you, but what a beautiful bugger to have known. I wear my Patu with pride and shall always reflect on what a great way you welcomed everyone. Big love to you all at this time xxx

Uncle Bob was just one of those guys you enjoyed to be with. Didn't matter if it was a home visit, holiday stay or family occasion. He was always great to share a story, nip of whiskey and have a laugh. Never really viewed him as a relation being an 'Outlaw' like myself from distant shores. Like an ol' mate whenever we got together we simply picked-up just where we left off even if it was 1, 5 or 10yrs inbetween. We all have our special memories with Bob and he will be sadly missed.
