On 5 August,2024 Ellen died peacefully at her home, surrounded by family, aged 96. Dearly loved wife of the late Jack, much loved mother of John(dec) and Nikki, Dianne(Di) and Les Hunter, Kaye and Barry Stuart. Cherished and adored Gran of Victoria, Emma, Sarah; Rebecca, Amanda; Monique and Lisa, her 20 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Special Aunty to her many nieces and nephews. A much loved friend to many.

A service to celebrate Ellen’s life will be held at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Grays Lane, Kaikoura on Tuesday 13 August, 2024 at 1.30 pm, followed by internment at Kaikoura Cemetery.

I had the pleasure of working for Ellen for many years, she touched my heart with her happiness and positive outlook on life. I enjoyed her company immensely, she always was so kind to myself and everybody she talked about. She became a friend and we had some great conversations. I will miss you Ellen. Love Rob
Ellen & Jack were very special friends of our family, [Pilbrows] & the Blackmore family. We have many lovely memories , shared over the years, up at Puhi Peaks farm, & in Kaikoura, on the Penninsula. A kind, generous Lady, always ready to help. Thankyou dear Ellen, for the ear to listen when i visited., & for helping my Dad. A special friend, now at rest. Our love to the family, on this sad day.
