BEATTIE, Neville John:

Passed away peacefully on Tuesday August 6th 2024 after a courageous fight against cancer, aged 65 years. 

Adored husband of Pauline, much loved father of Michael, Bryce and Ashley, much loved daughter-in-law Kirsten, and best mate Tom. Much loved son of Jack and Doreen (both deceased). Many thanks to the staff at Annaliese Haven Rest Home who cared for Neville in his final weeks. 

A funeral service will be held at Rangiora RSA at 1pm, on Wednesday August 14th 2024. In lieu of flowers, donations to the cancer association would be greatly appreciated. Messages to the family C/- PO Box 35, Rangiora 7440.

Loved the celebration of Nev's life , thank you for the link Pauline , such a lovely way to say goodbye . Nev was one of a kind as well you know and out days when he was living next door in Diane Grove Paparangi have never been forgotten and never will be . He practiced on bringing up boys on Paul first , and then along came your three fabulous boys, What times we all had and although we did not have a lot of time together once he moved down to the main land , he and then you have never been forgotten and have always felt part of the family. Sorry we never caught up recently but I also know how my husband did not want a lot of fuss towards the end . Pauline we are here if you need anything , a wee chat or a place to stay if up this way . You will be with us in thought

Merrell Greenwood and Paul

I have nothing but fun memories from my time at cricket. Michael said it best, fun was always the most important part of sport. He made us all feel unique and coached us as individuals, doing his best to get my timing back with the bat (if I ever had it). Good on ya Nev, rest easy.

RIP Nev you fought hard buddy, you were and are such a great bloke, you will be dearly missed. I remember when I worked at the Plough many many moons ago and you used to come in for a drink we always had a good chinwag and laugh. You have a beautiful family Nev and I know they will miss you dearly, Pauline our sincere condolences to you and the boys, always here for you and ready to go running when your ready xxxxxx we will look after them Nev fly high brother love Ally and Phil Ealam
