Rest In Peace Sister Frances. When you came home to be with your Mum you helped everyone here as well & played the organ at Mass, sang beautifully for us and helped everywhere needed. I will miss our phone calls. Ngaire Grayson
Thank you, Francie for the very special person you were, someone who put her whole heart into everything you did. Thank you for that lovely laugh you had. Thank you for our friendship ever since we entered the convent together. I shall miss you, dear Francie, but I know that in your heavenly home you will still be close to me in spirit. Much love always! Julie

Francie was someone that could not be replaced ! She would light up the room when she entered it!!! Her knowledge, her laughter her smiles always left you feeling amazing!!! We were lucky enough to have Francie visit a few times. I remember one year she actually spent Christmas with us!!! We spoiled her so much, she said she had never been spoiled so much in all her years. We lived having her here so much !!! We didnโt want her to leave!!! We all have lost an angel!!! She will live in our hearts forever!!!! ๐น๐น๐น๐น๐น๐น๐น๐น๐น๐น
I only knew Francie in the last few years when she was about to move to Kaikoura. She was a half cousin many times removed. I met Francie in Nelson before she moved to Kaikoura. I think this was around 2017. We visited Francie a few times in Kaikoura and always kept in touch by phone and email. Francie loved her garden and was particularly proud of her splendid tomatoes. We used to talk about gardening as my mother was a keen gardener.. Francie gave me a copy of her handwritten family tree. She had done a lot of work on it. Through Francie, I have learned about a branch of the family that I hadn't known existed. Francie was a bright, cheerful and engaging person and I feel so honoured to have known her. RIP Francie
Francie's legacy lives on through the comprehensive family records she compiled and left us and also the memories she shared. It was a pleasure to have been able to enjoy a special dinner and evening with Francie and Sister Maureen in Kaikoura in May. Right to the end she put others' needs before her own and maintained contact with so many of her family despite the challenges staying in touch demanded of her. Rest in peace dear cousin.
Francie was a very special cousin of Noel's she visited us a few times when we lived in Dargaville, she had great stories of her life. She would have a beer with us, and one time she went fishing with us on the Kaipara. When our daughter Jacqui taught at Te Kuiti High School 1999 & 2000 Aunty Margaret & Francie used to often invite Jacqui for meals . After Noel passed away she often rang me to make sure I was ok. She rang me on the 20th September Jacqui's daughter Freya's 9th birthday Francie obviously had her DOB but not the year so she was still updating her family records right to the end. Francie a very special cousin. Now at Peace ๐๐๐๐
Franceโs was my cousin but felt more like a sister. As we got older, she kept us updated with news on the Amrein side of our family. She and cousin Nick Amrein compiled an extensive Amrein Family Tree allowing us to learn about our European heritage and a record for generations to come. Aunty Margaret and Frances were instrumental in connecting us with extended family in America. I enjoyed her visits when she was working in Tanzania and Boston passing through LA . I will miss our communications and phone conversations . She would leave me feeling uplifted when I should have been uplifting her. Always cheerful and chatty with interesting stories to share. Frances has left an indelible impression on so many whoโs hearts she has touched and whoโs Missionary work she has helped around the globe. We will miss her dearly but will always keep her firmly in our hearts.๐ Rest in Peace Dear Francie. We love you, June, Kathrina and Rayxxx
It was a privilege catching up with Francie recently. Francie was always keen to catch up with information regarding families and update me with new information. Francie will be missed by many. God Bless and love from Sheryll, Glen Kerry and Sonia
My mum was Yvonne Peacock nee Dowman. Frances was her cousin - their mothers were sisters. Nana wanted one child, Aunty Margaret wanted 12 - somehow, they reversed it! I remember Frances coming to visit - we'd been watching Sally Fields in The Flying Nun and wanted to know if Frances could fly! Her laugh was beautiful! She kept contact with us all. And now? There's a grand reunion happening! Rest in peace, Frances.
It is so sad that Francie has now passed away. She was a lovely person to know and talk with especially in relation to the Remnant family ancestry and all the current relations. I recall going to her family home in Te Kuiti (my birthplace) and she and Aunty Margaret playing the piano, also rabbit hunting near Piopio. I will miss her phone and message calls. Francie had a varied and interesting life. Rest well my cousin.
Distant Remnant Cousin of Francie Francie and I connected in early 2023. So pleased we found each other even though time was precious with Francieโs health issues. Her family history knowledge was of great interest to me as we share the same Remnant line through William Remnant (1798-1861) Fortunately I was able to travel down to Kaikoura this year to meet Francie in March and we spent a wonderful 2 days together. I am unable to attend her service on Tuesday but I will certainly be present through the livestream. I would have enjoyed meeting family and friends and together been able to celebrate Francieโs wonderful and interesting life. Treasured and fond memories of knowing you dear Francie. My dear first cousin Francie. I will always remember your voice, your beautiful hair, your piano playing and sincere wise words. Your World travels to help other peoples was admirable and gave me an insight to life to aspire to. I still have the telegram sent from your dad and mum (Uncle Norm - my mum's brother and Aunty Marg) and you, when I was successful at passing School Certificate in 1967. You had tried more than once to pass and English always seemed to elude you. This certainly never prevented you from becoming an amazing loving and giving person. The days when our family visited Te Kuiti and your family will always remain forever in my heart. Arohanui my dear cousin. God bless.
