It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our māmā, kōkā, kuia, whāea, Aunty June and Mrs M, Dame June Hinekahukura Mariu (nee Waititi), who passed away yesterday, Saturday 10th August 2024 surrounded by her whānau. Whaea leaves behind 2 daughters, Alice and Jonyne and her mokopuna Hohepa, Jonyne - June and Arihia.

Whānau have advised the following:

Dame June will whakaeke onto Kauaetangohia marae 10am today, Sunday 11th August where she will lay in state until Tuesday 13th August. 11am ka tangi te pere for the nehu followed by burial in Te Rua o Tamakorito urupā.

Time table for whakaeke:

Sunday 10am whakaeke o Aunty June 1pm, 3pm.

Monday9am11am1pm, 3pm

Tuesday 9am11am Pere mō te nehu.
