We have been thinking about the family and how Uncle Pete will be missed by those who cared about him and loved him. He was a hard buggar at times but he had a soft side too and liked to help out if he could. I borrowed his car not so long ago and was very thankful for that. A few years ago we really enjoyed showing him and Paddie America. Even found a town called "Wellsford" in Kansas! He got a glimpse at how big this country is. He complained about the size of the meals... they were "far too bloody big".... usually ended up ordering him kiddie meals or just getting him a sandwich if anything at all. It was great to show him the Grand Canyon, some of the Rockies, Vegas, Lake Superior and find a treasure trove or two so he could get some souvenirs or a bayonet for one of his guns. He was my Dad's Uncle but was more like a brother to Butch. Pete and Joe taught Dad how to swim. That was a heave-ho into the river. Must of worked. Dad didn't drown. The duck shooting or pheasant hunts were great times too from memory. A Great Uncle to me, but more to others, the last of a generation that could put his hand to most anything and surprisingly jigsaw puzzles. We will remember you Pete and be grateful to have shared some of your travels and time. May you be at peace now . Love Taryn, Ginger and family.
Rest in peace Uncle Peter. Will miss our banter when I come over about my aussie accent and how I ate too many of your biscuits. ❤️ Love always and will miss you. Sam xo
