Martin

Minnie, - a rich legacy of constant love, appreciation of the natural and beautiful things in life and optimistic hope. How much luck can one man have? She was a super Wife, a super Mum and a super Gran. Minnie was the steadfast rock – the base for the continuation of our strong family ties, above all a loving caring Mum who guided and helped Helen and Jane through the teenage years, school, university and early adulthood, She it was who provided the home base for all three of us. Minnie was the one constant in the lives of all of us in the family and it is through her that our family has its strong ties with and of good memories of the past. Her example is the basis for all of us continuing into the future with hope and renewed sense of purpose. Minnie did not leaving a hole in our lives, she left us a rich legacy of love and strong family ties, Hers is an example of how to live and appreciate the best and the value of the natural things of this world. We will do well to remember the rich legacy she has left us as a well spring for renewal and to continue in our own lives.

Martin Ough Dealy

We frequently met Martin and Minnie socially, after we got.married in 1957, whilst Martin and I were in the final year of our degree course at the Royal Military College of Science in the UK. Later the Ough Dealy’s entertained us at Auckland and took us on a memorable trip on their yacht when we visited NZ in 2006. We have kept in touch with Martin and Minnie by email ever since, Minnie was a charming and exceptionally resourceful lady. She was a wonderful mother and her passing is a very sad loss to Martin and all the family. We find it a privilege to have known her.
