When I heard the news i was extremely saddened. Nigel provided me with great advice and support through my Ford career. Looking back over the years, it is so easy to see why he was my favorite boss. But at the time, I didn’t have enough life experience to know just how special he was. Please accept this as my way of honoring him for the positive impact he made on my and everyone's life. RIP Nigel, my sincere condolences to Jacqui, Caitlyn and Taylor.

Very sorry to hear the news. I worked with Nigel when i was based in Shanghai with Ford. Nigel was a terrific leader. He was humble to listen to input but when a decision needed to be taken he did not hesitate. But most importantly, Nigel was a wonderful people leader. If you worked with Nigel he was thoughtful and brought out the best in you and appreciated your contribution. And we had fun in the process. Gone too soon,

So sad to see the news...can't beblieve Nigel has left us. I used to be his interpreter in CAF Chongqing and he's the nicest boss I've ever had. I will always remember how he encouraged me and tolerated me when I made a mistake in conference interpretation. I have become stronger and more confident because of his kinds words. And I will never forget those fun conversantions we had when we were on our way to the many meetings/events venues during those years...he was such a fun and warm person. His kindness and generosity will be remembered by us. Bye Nigel...we will always love you.

My sincerest condolences Jacqui and family. Nigel was instrumental in my achieving Ford Dealer status and went well above and beyond with assistance and care. Without that initial boost I doubt it would have happened and I am genuinely forever grateful to a very special man. Joe McAleese

Sincere condolences to the Harris Whanau. My lasting memory of Nigel was in the Smoker's Corner at Ford Motor Company 70 Plunket Avenue under the sail that he had installed for us smoker's so we wouldn't get wet and the uncanny ability he had of not having any cigarettes even though he was the highest paid out of all of us, as the Managing Director. A man with so much MANA from the shop floor to the top tree. Arohanui Mariea Martin

My sincere condolences to Nigel’s family. Nigel was a two time colleague of mine while working at Ford. Nigel was such a nice person and his smile melted everyone and most challenges we faced at work. He made such an impactful contribution to Ford’s business in China and in Asia. He will be remembered by many in China who got to know him one way or another!

To the Harris Family. I must say when I heard the news i was extremely saddened. Nigel provided me with great advice and support through my Ford career. He was always generous with his time and knowledge. Best summed up as a bloody good guy. In the last few months we had connected through Facebook and it was great to chat, look back and remember the exciting years when i worked for him and he also helped build my Ford career. It is sad to think that is time has been called. Rest in Peace Nigel.

To Jacqui, Caitlin, Dean and Taylor, It is very sad news the passing of Nigel, my sincere condolences to you all. Due to my current circumstances I am unable to attend the celebration of Nigel's life which I'm sure will be a fitting tribute. I first met Nigel in the mid 1980's when he first became a Ford rep and called on me at Wanganui Motors, he was a young man committed to his job and little did we know how that commitment would take him on an amazing career path with Ford, I have many happy memories of times spent over the years and following his progress and his amazing achievements of his career and family life. Nigel was first a gentleman he had a great sense of humour, could be stern with a flush of colour but always showed that strong loyalty to people and product Most of all Nigel had the most amazing people skills and true sincerity that carried him along that path to success with career and his family he was so proud of. Well old friend you have signed off albeit to early, A life to celebrate, RIP Dennis Sexton. Dennis Sexton.

When I heard the terrible news all I could think of were the happy memories around the events and projects we created for Nigel and his team over many years. He was a great person encouraging fun and laughter from all of the Ford team. I remember a conference at millbrook in Queenstown where Nigel presented the dealer and partner incentive trip to Paris and Provence, he appeared as traditional Frenchman on a French classic bike adorning stringed onions and wearing a French beret. He encouraged us all to work hard but to have fun together and we did. We became part of the ford family. We worked hard but loved it 🥰 Thanks to Nigel I will carry these fond memories for a long time, these times were precious and we are so glad we met

Dear Harris Family, I was deeply saddened to hear of Nigel’s passing. He was a true gentleman who made a significant impact on those around him. When Nigel signed Molly and I up at Dargaville Ford in 1990, his kindness and dedication were evident. He always put others first, and his warmth and generosity will be remembered fondly. Please accept my heartfelt condolences during this difficult time. Nigel’s memory will live on in the many lives he touched. Rest in peace, my friend. With sympathy, Lindsay West

My sincere Condolences and I hope your celebration of Nigel’s life goes well, I will join the live stream on Friday. Nigel was a valued colleague of mine at Ford and we served at different times in the same locations around the world. We became good friends , albeit as ex Kiwis no longer living in New Zealand, catching up in later years was unfortunately infrequent . Gods speed (hopefully in a Mustang) to a great guy and we are all thinking of you at this difficult time.
