Haddon as the oldest brother of the Speakman clan you were always an inspiration with your academic and sporting achievements. You will be missed. Love John

John Speakman

What was it about Dr. Speakman, who had such an erudite air about him, and yet so kind and approachable. I literally just thought about him today, and found that he had just passed. It Has been over 50 years since I’ve seen him walking through the halls of Queens College., in New York. He had an uncommon interest in track and field, and I being a “weight man”, He would stop me In the hallway from time to time and ask me how I was doing.. Getting the attention of a man of his stature, not to mention his Kiwi accent, was mind blowing for an uncivilized brute like me. I sincerely hope he had a rich and rewarding life.
