Hello Wayne and family.. I watched the funeral service for Carol with Felicity and Scott and just wanted to say how sorry I am to hear of her death. The tributes to her really painted a picture of the sort of woman she was and how much she was loved. Grieving is a journey but I am sure you will all support each other through this process and remember the good times and continue to remember and celebrate her life. Love Lesley
Knowing her and spending time with Carol has been a very special privilege Most of my contacts with her have been through a shared interest in sailing with Wayne and their family. We knew each other before we both decided to build and assemble trailer yachts when both our families lived in Christchurch. When we trailered the yacht up to the Bay of Islands Wayne and Carol were there to introduce us to the Bay and show us some of their many favourite places. Later we used to visit in our keeler yacht which we sailed from Tauranga. Wayne and Carol used to always be there and greet us on arrival. Christmas was always a highlight as Carol prepared food and Christmas goodies for the their children ours and any other friends who happened to be there on the beach. Julia’s children used to come on to our yacht and entertain us with hilarious “shows” they had prepared. Liz was an excellent swimmer who kept us supplied with fresh scallops. Carol has been a wonderful, helpful, mother, grandmother and great grandmother for all her children. Over the last 14 years Carol and Wayne have been inspiring with their love and caring for each other as they have supported each other in such difficult times. Thanks for the memories that will forever stay with us and love to the whole family.
When I first came into Carol and Waynes home as a carer, I saw a beautiful couple that had lived a lifetime together and were still madly in love and I thought it was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. As Carols carer I was there to help her with her with her day to day needs and activities. But she helped me in so many ways like teaching me sewing and knitting, herbal medicine and to take pride in my appearance. These teachings will stay with me forever and I was so blessed and honored to have met and cared for Carol. She was such a beautiful woman and so lady like. All my love and prayers to Wayne and Family. xo
Carol you are a beautiful soul. I enjoyed working alongside both you and Wayne. You are another beautiful star that will shine down on all those that love you and care for you. rest in love our dear friend.
It was a pleasure to have Carol as my client for over 4 years and we always had a good laugh. I'm so glad to have seen Carol before she passed, sending love and colondolenses to all the family.
Aunty Carol, Thanks for such amazing memories of our 1994 yacht trip around the Bay of Islands with you and Wayne. What an adventure.... Wally Hats, cold early morning dips in the ocean, swimming with Dolphins and mucking in with boat duties. I remember it like it was yesterday! You were such a strong woman, and will be missed by many. All our love from Wellington to Uncle Wayne, Liz, Julia, Mark and their families. Lots of love Nicola, Craig, Dylan and Sophie xx
It was an absolute honour and privilage to have been a part of Carols life. She will be forever fondly remembered and cherished. Much much love to Wayne and family.
