John Sverre Olsen (Jack, Snow)

 Age 96, passed away on 31 August 2024 at the Vincentian Home in Berhampore.

 

John Sverre Olsen, affectionately known as Jack to his family and Snow to his friends and colleagues, passed away peacefully at the age of 96. He was a devoted husband to Jocelyn, a loving father to Anne, Chris, Evelyn, Gerard, and Greg. A cherished Granddad, Pop, Great granddad, Uncle, and friend to many.

 

Jack’s life was marked by his unwavering love for his family and his generous spirit. He will be remembered for his energy and tenacity of spirit, the joy he brought to those around him, and the legacy of infrastructure he built for communities.

 

His memory lives on through his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who will continue to honour his legacy.

 

A memorial service will be held to celebrate Jack’s life on Monday, 9th September at 11 am at the Maungaraki Baptist Church.
