Dear Lamb Family, My thoughts are with you during this incredibly difficult time. It’s heartbreaking how devastating brain tumors can be and how they can take our loved ones so suddenly or too young. The service was beautiful, a perfect tribute to Paul and his unique personality. I remember once asking him what it was like to drive the Criterion car—the one with the unusual front end. He smiled and said, "Best driven on a very dark night (no one can see him)." My deepest condolences for your loss. I believe it’s the wonderful memories that will live on forever. With sympathy, Michelle King

All those years go in 1988 (R3/88 RNZAF wing) we were good mates aye Paul. Lots of laughs and happy times. We were really just kids back then but the memories remain and the time was special. The time I spent with you was far too short and we moved on with our lives as so often happens. But Paul, you left your mark on many of us during that time... and I expect you always have with people who were lucky enough to know you. Go well my friend Reece Sirl R3/88 11 Sep 2024

Hi Paul, I remember when we met - as baggies we were assigned incinerator duty at Wigram as punishment for some separate minor transgressions. I guess that’s just the way the Air Force operated. While we were shoving stuff into the fire, we discussed what we had done to deserve this and both decided that we were just unlucky and were “shit magnets”!!! We didn’t get together as often as we should but when we did it was as if time had stood still and shared our war stories. Your generosity and time is appreciated and you are always happy to help a brother out. I still owe you that drink for sourcing some gib for me when it was hard to come by a few years ago… Gone too soon brother! Mike P

Paul, I feel incredibly lucky to have known you in this lifetime. Your kind, gentle, positive encouragement, your a spade's a spade and nothing is insurmountable attitude, your focus on and care for others, your empathy, understanding and giving of time, your infectious energy and your ability to always smile and laugh. You were an incredibly generous, warm and kind soul. You lived and loved life. You were determined and focused. And you always gave me 200%. Fly high bud. Until we meet again. Much love, Fi xx

Paul Gutted you have been taken too early. Those early days on R3/88 Recruit course we a lot of fun (we Southlanders had to stick together and put up with those crazy North Islanders!), and then you Comms Operators were always keeping everyone amused (your bosses may not have been so amused tho!). To the Lamb family, so sorry to hear of Paul's passing. Thoughts are with you all today. Go well Paul.

Paul, just 36 years ago we met in ‘E Dorm’ RNZAF Woodbourne(R3/88)….had a hell of a time battling the officious regime of an outfit more akin to Dad’s Army but we had some fun trying to bend them to our way of thinking. Great to catch up again in Auckland as my client when you had your marketing business but about 16 or so years ago, enjoyed a hell of a Monday night out with yourself & DS. I don’t think I’ve ever woken on a Tuesday morning feeling worse than that. Shame we didn’t catch up more…it’s easy (but also tough) to say that now. Rest easy mate…you packed a lot in to 54 years.... but taken way too soon!

Mate not so long ago we joined the RNZAF together (seemingly all of Dipton joined!) & had more than a few good laughs - neither of us that good at ‘discipline’ made for ours being labelled the most rebellious TC course ever. More than that though Paul we have been great friends and typically tried but failed to catch up in person in the last couple of years. I always enjoyed your energy and the fact that recently you have been the old bills only supporter it seems! Go well mate. You deserved to be around a lot longer. DS PS I want that HQ Holden I sold you for $500 back !

Dear Paul, In 1994, I made the worst financial decision of my life, buying the cute purple VW from you 🤣. I wouldn't have had it any other way. 1975-1982 we were in a class of 7 students at Dipton primary school, we rode motorbikes and horses together, we went floundering at Riverton (see attached photo) and spent Summers and weekends at each other's houses. We argued and got upto mischief. Thankyou for the wonderful memories. To Margaret and Jim, James and Karl and Travis, my heart breaks for you all. I wish I could be with you in person on Wednesday, but I will be with you on zoom, and more importantly in daily prayer. Xxxxxx
