Today we say goodbye to a very special family member. Although we are not present we are with you mum and family. We will cherish the fond memories we have of AJ. She lived a full and exciting life and we loved listening to her stories of adventures she had including living with Mel on their yacht. She had a great sense of humour and was always willing to participate in any practical joke. We will miss you. Love John, Dianne, Kelsey, Tegan & Shaina xx
We first met Jasmine in about 1974 after she arrived in Southampton and was met by my mother (Joy) and my step father (Barry). We saw Jasmine on and off for the three plus years until she went to America shortly after our eldest son was born, she came down to our home in West Sussex to meet him. When we came to NZ in 2011 Jasmine showed us such kindness and generosity by organising a tour of North Island all on the strength of the friendship she had with my mother, she said it was to repay all the tours she did while she was in the UK with Mum and Barry. A truly remarkable lady and one we have been privileged to know.
My heart aches with the loss of dear Aunty Jinx. Though I cannot be physically present today, please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you Mum and family while we share in the grief and celebrate her life. I hold onto the cherished memories especially the time spent together on "Kiwi" in Long Beach CA. The love you and Mel had for each other was a true inspiration and it brings me comfort to know that you are reunited with him, sailing together once more. Aunty Jinx will always be remembered fondly in my heart. Helen xxoo

Dear Jasmine, my dear friend who was my model to aspire to after we both had a leg amputation. We met at Base Hospital when I was wheeled into her ward and simultaneously we both uttered “ What size shoe do you have” as hers was Right and mine was Left. It was one of those funny moments where we both thought alike. Our friendship started from there. Jasmine left the Hospital about two weeks before me and I forgot which Rest Home she had chosen. When I arrived one day to look at the Rest Home my family thought would be the best for me, lo and behold, there was Jasmine as perky as can be. That made my decision easy, Rhapsody it was. She told me all about her nieces working hard emptying out her home and getting her room here looking like her home. She was so grateful and couldn’t give them enough praise. She was so fit and would be out and about and mixing in with other residents, her new friends. It has been a shock at her sudden hospitalization and then for her not to recover . She had many friends here and we will all miss her. Her sense of humour and her vitality in life were a joy. Farewell, fly free my good friend, Allie
Jasmine lived life so bravely. The first time I met her - fifty-two years ago - she greeted me in the foyer of the then Education Board when I attended for an interview. She was wearing a calliper on her leg. I thought: "Poor thing, she is a cripple." Later I found out the calliper was due to a skiing injury. That is the leg she recently had amputated. I have lost a dear friend.
Jasmine, a very special friend indeed. Loyalty and goodwill were hallmarks in everything Jasmine took on. From the early days roller skating, to being our chief bridesmaid she always found time in her busy life to keep in touch over the years. Rest in Peace Jasmine Marie & Michael Chong
