Sorry to hear of John’s passing. He and I, together with the Northland Dairy Board of Directors and Management team, managed the transformational change in the Northland Dairy Industry, which has resulted in the structure, which is now Fonterra. During this period, John and I worked closely together and I had a huge respect for him and the way he handled the pressures of the job and the relationships which this entailed. We were saddened to hearing John’s passing. He was a wonderful neighbour in our early Tomarata days, taking Steven out on the bike on weekends and school holidays and I’m sure it was these trips that instilled in Steven a love for the land. He was a wonderful, caring, kind and thoughtful man. Our condolences to Judy and the wider family - especially those who were part of our children’s lives growing up. Warm memories of John will live on.
