Haere ra, Jackie. You were such a big part of our family, growing up in Wairoa & then when the Bimler kids went to uni at Massey. And you were one of our mother's dearest friends. Thank you for being part of our lives, for welcoming us to your home, for always being there for us as you were for so many others. Loved you then, will love you always. Fly free to the stars with David, Jackie. Arohanui.
Arohanui & Blessings to my dear friend Lorraine & all the Sayers whanau. Apologies I am unable to be with you all today, but will be there visually & spiritually. Total admiration for Jackie for your huge big heart, thoroughly positive attitude, warm welcoming and caring, one of my most strongest & loving mentors. You gave me my first home away from my Wairoa, allowed me to live in your caravan in your backyard and helped me so much getting a job and finding my feet as a young teen. May you join your beloved David and now Rest In Peace - no more pain. Will miss you xx
From the age of 10 I was privileged to be welcomed into the Sayers family in 1969. I considered Jackie to be my other mum. I referred to her as Ma Sayers, but in person she was mum. She respected and loved me the same way as her own children. She was a caring loving person to many from around the world. She fostered all of us yet it wasn’t a legal process but it came from her heart. She and Pa Sayers were like my guardian angels. They taught me the values of hard work, love and respect of which I hold dear today. I love you mum and I’m really going to miss you.
Thank you Jackie for your integrity and passion for social work. I will always appreciate the generous way that you shared your knowledge and vast experience with me and many others.
