Funeral service held at Central Park Chapel, Davis Funerals
What a beautiful service. We so wish we could have been there. Aunty Mavis’ strong will, resilience and pride in her heritage, and pride in her children and family was always evident. Her cheeky sense of humour and the ability to have a chuckle in any situation always put a smile on everyone’s faces. I will remember the ‘dear’, the flick (usually if Marcus and I were arguing over something) and her kind and giving nature. It’s the end of an era, she always pointed out to me what traits I had that were definitely from my Harman side of the family. Heartfelt condolences to all xx From Erin Burningham (nee Harman), Matt Harman and Jan Longhurst
Isa Nenna Mavis, so sad to hear of your passing. Always so caring and loving, and a mother to all. Thank you for taking me under your wings during my early visits to Auckland, teaching me about our family history. Rest well beautiful Nenna, and thank you for your love and kindness. Deepest condolences to the family, and praying for God's peace and comfort upon you all.
My Darling beautiful Aunty. My heart is so heavy this morning as I sit here on the Gold Coast waiting for the livestream of your final service. I am remembering all the beautiful times we had together. I hear your voice and your laughter. Thank you for being my other mother. You and Uncle Kitch treated me like a daughter and I always felt very much a part of the Powell family. Rest well Aunty. Give my love to Uncle Winston Liz and Laurette and when you see Mum and Dad tell them Im doing fine. Thank you for your love Aunty.
Firstly my sincere heartfelt condolences to my Cousins and all their families. Age does not define a person, it enhances the beautiful soul and the wisdom they carry within. My Dearest Aunty Mavis your cheeky laughter and your sense of humor which was you being you, which I love about you. Our telephone conversations over the years had us both laughing and yes we did manage to speak in between the laughter. In one conversation Aunty tried to teach me Fijian over the phone, well I will leave this to your imagination. I thank you my beautiful Aunty for those memories which I hold dear in my heart. Your loving niece, Megan
