Dear Pam and Family. What a huge loss for you all. Allan was such a giving person who never seemed to seek personal gain. My early memories of him coming home from exotic sea journey's bringing gifts for his sister and others from faraway shores. Whenever I met with Allan he was always so cheerful and kind. When our my Dad died, Allan presented himself at home offering to do ANYTHING. he washed Mums car and did the grocery shopping. Chores no one else wanted to do. Nothing seemed to upset him. When he lost his wallet on the Metro in Rome he just took in his stride. I for one will miss his cheerful smile and his genuine interest in others around him. Dearest Pam My heart aches for you and your family with the very sad loss of the most beautiful and fun loving man I had the pleasure of being my wonderful friend and especially the fun times we had sharing many years working along side him our time together so much laughter and some pretty dangerous antics that this beautiful man performed. GREENWOOD Allan John It is with huge sadness that Allan’s family announce his passing on 5 October 2024 at North Shore Hospital. He was the dearly loved husband of Pam and much-loved Dad, Father-in-law, Friend and Poppa of Craig, Anna, David, Jane, Loes, Hugo, Dylan, Zoe, Brooke, Eden and Ava. A celebration of Allan’s life will be held at The North Harbour chapel of Dil’s Funeral Services, 185 Schnapper Rock Road Albany on Friday 11th October at 2.30 pm. In lieu of flowers donations to Dementia Auckland would be greatly appreciated.
