A true host was Helen So generous with her time. I thought i had met Helen through Rob and Steve but my Mum pointed out no, we met well before. When i was 15 i was very late to ask someone to the ball at Thames High School. All the formal wear was booked out so off to Hamilton we went!! Helen fitted me out with grey tails (A morning suit i was told) at Meltzers on Victoria street. Looking back it was rather funny really. But Helen saved the day (or night rather) During the late 80s and early 90s i lived in Whatawhata. Some times too much drinking resulted in me sleeping on the Brookview court couch. I was always made to feel most welcome even though it must have been a surprise to find someone asleep on the couch. Many fun times were had at BBQs and gatherings often after marathon surfing trips to Raglan or the east coast. Helen will be dearly missed. Great lady and fun till the very end. Inspirational outlook on life. Helen really was one of those lovely people you meet in life who you never forget.
