Tributes

Dianne, you were my first friend at Middlemore Hospital, when I moved up to Auckland from Christchurch. On my first day you welcomed me immediately, and offered to share a locker with me. We became great friends from then on. You fought the long hard journey with your health for many years, always with a smile and that little chuckle of yours. Your community spirit to making soft toys for others was commendable. Your love of jigsaws makes me want to start one now in your memory. I loved my visits, I would not take no for an answer, I would call you and say I am passing nearby for work so put the kettle on for a cuppa and a chat. You would also show off your garden with love and tender care. COVID was not kind, and you would not let me visit, but we still talked every few months. I will miss you as a friend, and for a chat. So grateful we got to chat the day before you left this world. It was meant to be. Rest in peace dear friend. Fly high with the angels free from pain. Clare xxx

Dianne, thank you for being such a wonderful friend. We have had plenty of laughs and conversations together. I am already missing our nightly phone calls. You will always be "Queen of the jigsaws" to me. For you, no more hiding your chocolate fish or chocolate peanuts. You are missed so much already. Sadly it is time to say goodbye, but you will certainly never be forgotten by myself or Brian. Love to you, from Pam
