It is with heavy hearts that our whānau share the news of our father Owen Melvin Walford passing. After a short battle with cancer our father passed peacefully with his loved ones by his side.
We will hold a memorial for Owen on Monday 21st October at the Hastings Crematorium Orchard Road Hastings at 11am. Followed by a reception at the Hawkes Bay Golf Club, 114 Valentine Road, Bridge Pā at 1pm.
Dad will lay at Tineka and Peleti’s home. 712 Ballantyne Street. All are welcomed . He will be at the Akina Softball Club for his final poroporoaki from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, October 20th. BYO.
We want to send our gratitude to all the staff at Hawke’s Bay Memorial Hospital who cared for our dad in his last days. We acknowledge how hard you all work and the comfort you gave us in this hard time.

What a legend Wal was! Had loads of advice and guidance to his teammates. Was the life of the party and a conragious laugh. I am lucky and thankful I was able to spend a few years playing ball on a team with him. My heart goes out to the whanau. Ka kit Wal see you on the diamond in the sky
