Eddy was one of the Kindest, bravest and most gentle men I have ever met. He and Janetta obviously adored each other and it has been such a pleasure to have spent time in their company, watching their playful and loving interactions. Eddy has left behind a large void with his passing. I feel truly honoured to have met and spent the time I have had with him. We will miss you terribly Eddy.

Dad was a true engineer at heart who loved working with his hands and fixing things. While we struggled with technical diagrams, his mind was already extending them and improving upon the original design. I spent many happy hours with Dad, from releasing hot-wheel cars down the driveway to see which went further (of course he won!) to sailing with me on my maiden voyage and him pointing out the importance of wind direction each time the boat flipped over, while keeping a grin on his face. Every activity was a learning lesson which I loved and enjoyed. I will miss him terribly, but his job is done, and it is time for some well-deserved rest. Thanks for everything, Dad!

He was a wise and clever man with a deep knowledge and interest in all things technological, as well as of course his love of sport. Only a few days ago we were talking about the America's Cup. We didn't see each very often over the 30 plus years that I knew him as we lived at opposite ends of the earth. But when we did get together our conversations flowed as if there had not been a gap of years since our last get together. I'll never forget the practical help he gave me building a farrowing shed in Wales and equally I'll never forget his and Janetta's kindness whilst on a visit to South Africa where he drove us all the way across the country visiting Game Reserves, Wineries and Sun City. There is no doubt he made my sister Janetta very happy and I know I speak for all when I say he will be sadly missed. Tim and Liz Cazalet

As step fathers go, I couldn't have asked for a kinder man. Eddy was always patient and respectful of his role in my life. He was my mother's soulmate and the companionship they shared for so many years has left a lasting impression on us all. I always knew she was in safe hands. Eddy was a tinkerer. He would try his hand at anything - a real do it your self kind of man. There was nothing broken about the house that he couldn't fix! Ed, rest now. Your work is done. Thank you for your part in helping me grow and for the support you gave me and my family over the years. I hope to be half the man you were. ~ Dave

Eddy was more than just a father-in-law to me; he was a kind, gentle, and loving presence in my life. His warmth and wisdom touched everyone who knew him, and I feel incredibly fortunate to have been part of his family. I’ll always treasure the moments we shared and how he welcomed me with open arms. He will be deeply missed, but his memory will always stay with us.
