In accordance with Edna’s wishes. A private cremation has been held.

I cherish the many years Edna was my wonderful colleague at the Salzburg Seminar in American Studies at Schloss Leopoldskron in Salzburg. We worked hard together on many occasions, and we also laughed together often. Edna was well liked and greatly appreciated by all of her colleagues. May she rest in peace. Marty Gecek
To Edna’s family, We are sending deepest sympathy to you all in your sad loss. We had known Edna a short time but did enjoy her company at our meetings in Fitzroy. She was a lovely lady. Fitzroy Ladies Friendship Group.
What an amazing dear lady I had the blessing of being in my life. A real inspiration at age 96! A dedicated Mum and Grandmother, she loved her family and got to do her last OE with her daughter and family, how beautiful. What a legend Edna, you made the most of what you could. Will miss seeing your face, seeing you walking down town, our family gatherings, outings. May we raise a glass in celebration to one heck of a Women! Rest In Peace Dear Edna 🙌
Dear Dominique The Wiedemann family Helen, Michael,Sarah and Mark is thinking of you and your family. I met your mother in my travel agency office in Queen Street 1964/1965 ? I had just started my job when to my surprise in comes this “lovely”lady…your mother. She was in the process of planning quite an extensive trip with your Dadb to Europe with final destination St. Johann/PG She knew more about the planet than I did and was very gracious to give me a chance to catch up. This was the beginning of our friendship with your family and more overseas travel to come. As a result your Dad designed and built a fine house for us at 36 Tizard Road and we became neighbours. Love and peace Michael …Auckland 021 637047
I worked with Edna many years ago at Fisher & Paykel where she was secretary to Stan Tremain who was the manager in the Supply Division. My sister and I became very good friends with Edna and learned much about her in that time. We went to her wedding when she married Gherhard (apologise for the spelling) and still have a photo of her in her wedding gown. Edna was an outstanding dressmaker and always looked beautiful in her clothes. We always joked with her about the sweater she was knitting which she was always working on but sadly she lost when she was ship wrecked. She had great story’s to tell about that! Lost track of Edna many years ago but always remembered her. Rest in Peace Edna. ❤️
