Our Colin is the loved brother to the late Edith, Brian, Lionel, Alan and Lorraine. A dearly loved koro to Polly, Nolene, Tania, Henry, Darryn, Donnamaree, Davina and Romana. A dearly loved korokoro to Zion, Nathaniel, Te Manu Aao, Tania, Keita, Dre, Maahinaarangi, Marshall, Christine and to his mokopuna katoa. A dearly missed uncle, grand-uncle, great-grand uncle and great-great grand uncle to many nieces and nephews. A respected brother-in-law to those who have passed. A close friend to many he worked with from Taranaki to the Mighty Waikato; working as a farm hand, at Tolleys/ Olex Cable Industries and as a member of club meetings within the Taranaki region. We wish to acknowledge the beautiful waahine and taane at Woodrow Grove at Maida Vale in Bellblock. You all contributed to giving dad quality of life in your own special way which filled dad's time there with laughs and amusement. We also wish to acknowledge Koohatu in Waitara. You engulfed dad with a home away from home feeling as he learned how to navigate his new way of life with limited mobility. Both of these places gave space for our Maaori ways of being to marry with our Paakehaa ways of being; absolutely loving, kind and knowing the actions of whaanau. Words cannot express our deepest gratitude to you all. Our Colin will lay at Kooanga Moa marae in Inglewood, poowhiri is at 2.30pm on Saturday 26 o Whiringaaanuku. The funeral service will be at Kooanga Moa marae on Wednesday, 30 o Whiringaaanuku at 12.30pm. We will depart to Awanui cemetery for service at 2pm. Our Colin will lay beside his beloved wife Gladys Hall. Nau mai, haere mai e ngaa waka o ngaa hau e whaa. Come and share your stories and memories with us. Mauri Ora.
Waruhia-Tutahi/ Heke-Rota: Our whaanau from the Waikato region would like to acknowledge our sad loss to our dear friend Colin. Arohanui Dawn Rota-Tawha.

Funeral service held at Koanga Moa Marae
Condolences to Simonne, Henry and Donnamaree. Colin is much loved fun uncle of Trent, Tina and Lisa and respected friend of Sandra. Rest easy Colin with the love of your life Gladys, reunited at last. We will cherish our memories of you .
It was always a pleasure to see Colin with his welcoming and cheeky smile despite his limitations during my time at Maida Vale. I was sad to see his death notice in the newspaper this morning. His time came on quickly. It is nice to think he is in a better place and he is free driving around to wherever he choses. He has left a legacy of joy and aroha behind. May this soften your grief. Warm regards, wishes and Arohanui to his friends and whanau.
