Pat helped our family to get to your beautiful country through my Husband Michael Rawlings.. He joined the building control at Rotorua back in 2005. We had 2 boys and a 6 month old little baby girl. Both Pat and Pauline looked after us like we were a part of their family. We eventually came home but always kept in touch with them both visiting us. I will never ever forget their kindness. We were all so sad to hear about Pats passing. RIP to a beautiful Man. Pat you will never be forgotten. A true legend. XXX

I've always really enjoyed Pat's company and I'm very sad to hear that he's gone now. He and Pauline always made me feel welcome and loved. Pat was a fun and caring uncle who was great with people. Pauline, Ross, Cathryn, Mark, Marise, Brad, Paul and all the family - Simon, the kids and I send you our love. We are praying for you all. Sorry we can't be with you in person for the funeral. We will be watching and thinking of you. Go well, Pat!

I was privileged to work alongside Pat at Rotorua District Council for man years. Pat was a man of utmost integrity and empathy but also did not suffer fools lightly. His humour and human nature shone through and he was one of the last great men to work with. I was lucky to catch up with both Pat and Pauline for dinner when visiting Rotorua and the blessed marriage they had shone through especially in the challenging times they had. Rest in peace my friend and may perpetual light shine upon you πŸ™πŸ’–
