Tributes

Gwen and Alex were my neighbours for many years. When I first arrived next door to them at 39 Carter Drive in October 2006, they were always so friendly, kind and considerate. They even let the boys play with their remote controlled cars around their circular driveway, without the kids even asking. After Alex passed away, Gwen lived alone in 37 Carter for a number of years. She would send me Christmas cards over the years too from her Otonga address. Like the neighbours on the other side, Lynn Hepburn, and then Brian and Daphne Christoper at 33, and of course Michelle at 35 Carter, it was always a friendly and safe end of Carter Drive. I was very sad to read of Gwen's passing. Condolences to her family.

Layne Harvey

Fond memories of a gracious lady who was always welcoming, warm and kind. Gwen and my late mother, Louise Burgess (nee Barnett) went to school together in Te Puke. They both married and ended up farming in rural settlements near Rotorua. Rest in peace, Gwen.

Annette Burgess

Sad to hear of her passing. I have such very good memories of working with Gwen at Upper Atiamuri School all those years ago. She was always such a loverly person to be around.

Roger Strong

Deepest sympathy in the loss of a lovely lady. Memories of our days in Zonta

Mollie Campbell

Deepest Sympathy on the passing of Gwen. Such a beautiful and gracious lady. You will all miss her very much.
