Tributes

Sue was a very special person, we have lots of lovely memories. It was nice to be part of the online service for our family.

Athol and Val Bates

Sue, such a very special friend to us, always kind and caring, intelligent and interested. Whether , at home in Auckland or Kaitaia sailing in the Hauraki Gulf on Apache or Smokie catching up in Wellington or Taupo, you made every day special. You will always be part of our memories, we are so lucky to have had you and Ivor as friends. We love you Sue and will miss you always. Barry and Barbara .

Barry’s d Barbara Simmonds

After leaving Geneva in 1973, I didn't see Sue until two years ago when I decided it was high time to visit her in New Zealand. It was one of the highlights of my life and we re-connected instantly. It was a truly incredible trip that had us laughing, talking constantly, visiting beaches, her favorite places like the Library and marketplace, and spending time strolling through her lush, tropical gardens and orchards. Her love of weaving hemp and the beautiful, artistic hats, cloaks, baskets and purses she made of Harakeke (flax) were stunning and we spent an entire rainy day in her bright studio, weaving flowers and sharing stories. I cherish the time we had with all my heart and am so very grateful to have had such a wonderful experience with her and Ivor. I will see her in my dreams, always hold her close to my heart and hope our souls can dance together again when I cross the great divide.

For my dearest friend, Sue
