Having known Howard and his family for 32 years being married to his beautiful daughter Caroline I flew from the United Kingdom down to New Zealand to ask him for her hand in marriage, 27 years ago. So we went to play golf, and I wasn’t sure how to broach the subject so in Howard’s, typical humorous way he said “I know why you’re here the answer is yes, your shot!!” Howard was one of Life‘s true gentleman, a kind, considerate, quiet man, who wanted to do nothing more than please others. I will always remember him with great affection and forever cherish my thoughts and times we spent together both in the UK and in New Zealand. He was a truly very successful and wealthy man as his three daughters absolutely adored him. RIP Howard xx

Grandad, you were always such a kind and gentle man. You had such a quirky way about you and a great sense of humour. I remember you always chuckling away about something with your camera in your hand taking pictures of the family at every opportunity. You will be dearly missed and I’ll always cherish the memories I have of you. I wish we had spent more time together, which I’m sure would have been the case if there wasn’t such a distance between the UK and NZ. I hope you’re in a better and happier place now.
