Lay down your oars weary sailor, we see you have no more wind in your sails but fear not, we will carry you on your final journey to cross the bar.
Thank you Beavan for your guidance and mentorship throughout my journey in the communications branch. I shall always be guided by your wisdom imparted to me Durie g my time in the RNZN. Calm seas and fair winds Sir Yours Aye
Bevan is an OUTSTANDING example of the word PROFESSIONALISM. He remained 'gun barrel straight' throughout his long, distinguished naval career. Bevan set the standard for those aspiring to a higher communicator office. He will be long remembered as a man of high integrity who generously shared his vast radio communication knowledge to all and sundry regardless of their rank/rate. Rest in peace, Bevan, and enjoy the accolades, fun, and laughter of your shipmates who are now waiting with your ceremonial Guard and Band to pipe you onboard.
RIP Sir remember well working for you in Posting Office in Comauck . Great boss always willing to impart knowledge to a very green Ordinary Writer. Thank you for your service.
Bevan… you will be missed, you were one of the proudest men I know who spoke so highly to me of every single member of your family, you told me a story of each and every one of them, you even told me how your job (while in the Navy) was to organising to get flowers sent to all the men’s wives for birthdays and Valentine’s Day! How your wife, children & grandchildren received flowers for every special occasion. Bevan I will miss you and always remember you!
