Dumble, Roland Lonsdale (Ray) 27/4/1937-15/11/2024

Ray left us on the morning of 15 November in the comfort of his home in Papamoa and in the company of family.

Beloved husband of Sue (deceased) for 62 years. Father to Ray, Craig and Scott (deceased), Father-in-law to Michele. Very proud grandad of Paige, Bradley, Krista and Chad and great grandad of Leo. Cherished companion and playmate of Ruth Francis

Much loved and respected brother and brother-in-law to Naomi and Alec (deceased) and Joe and Stephanie. Very proud uncle of all his nephews and nieces. Great mate of special cousin Walter.

Ray will be missed by all of those that have had the pleasure of knowing him in particular his golfing friends of many years and amazing neighbours of Beachlands Place, Papamoa, you guys’ rock.

A fun-loving, mischievous man and role model on how to enjoy life to its fullest. The loss of his banter, compassion, and wise advice on and off the golf course and in the neighbourhood will be missed by all.

A heartfelt special thanks to the John, Heather and team at Dee St medical centre. The family wish to thank Craig, Rays second son, for the outstanding care, devotion and compassion displayed 24/7 during the last 7 weeks of his life, Craig you are a truly amazing man.

A celebration of Rays life will be held at Omanu Golf Club, Matapihi Rd, Mount Maunganui on Monday 25 November at midday.

It is with sadness that Creative Abilities acknowledge the passing of Ray Dumble. We had a connection with the Dumble’s through the care of Sue and Ray’s son Scott, whom we had the privilege of supporting for many years. Ray’s advocacy and encouragement extended beyond his family to embrace our wider community, including Scott’s love of Boccia. Our thoughts are with Ray’s family and loved ones during this time of loss. Rest in peace, Ray. From everyone in the Creative Abilities Community
