Very sad to hear of the passing of Gill. Thoughts go out to Colin and the family today. Gill and Colin were great neighbours to my mum and dad, Maida and Bob Falconer. Thanks for all the support and kindness you showed to them over the years.

I met Jill Over 50 years ago when she taught me at Merrilands. We had great laughs about my loathing of jigsaw puzzles and sitting for the present on my first day. Over the years she became my children’s teacher. Through this she passed on her love of puzzles and the colour purple to my children. (Both things I didn’t like and she had great pleasure making my children love. ). Jill has been the best friend and Honorary Grandmother for my children. I miss our camping trips, Her teaching me to drive a manual car. There is many fun stories I can share as she became part of our family too. Jill I will always remember you and will always have you in my heart

We are thinking of you Colin and family, with the passing of Jill. She was a lovely neighbour to mum and dad (Norm and Thelma) and a fellow plant enthusiast as I am. Our thoughts are with you, from the White family. Judi Lee and Jacqui and Amy, Keith and Susie.

Gill was our kindy teacher for both of our children at Marfell Kindergarten. They are now in their 30s, but whenever I saw her, she would ask after them by name. She was a lovely teacher and person.

On behalf of Kindergarten Taranaki please accept our sincere condolences on the passing of Jill. Jill is fondly remembered as a great Head Teacher at Fitzroy Kindergarten in the 1970's and then as a teacher at Marfell Kindergarten for eleven years before she retired. We know that Jill really enjoyed seeing the children from Marfell when they visited Rhapsody Rest Home very recently to perform for the residents. Jill will be fondly remembered as a teacher of the many children she taught and the colleagues she worked with.

So sorry to read of Gill’s passing. I met her first as a colleague and then later through the New Plymouth Genealogy Society. We shared many happy hours discussing both worlds, though more Genealogy in the end. My condolences to her family. Unfortunately I’ll be in Christchurch for her funeral for a Genealogy weekend which I’m sure she would have appreciated. Sharyn Guthrie
