To family and friends. I was lucky enough to have Mike as my boss at 14 SQN and at TMCC in Ohakea. I have lots of good memories of Mike. I will share one story. In the RNZAF we had to do a run test every 6 months. Mike liked running as much as me. He would go up to the physical training instructors overseeing the test and ask them if they wanted to have flight in a Strikemaster (and they all did). Then we’d jog/walk the 2 miles. When we came back, the instructors would ask our time, and Mike would say pass. Then they’d ask me mine time and I’d say, I’m with him. Strangely the instructors would be flying within the week. Mike was like a Dad to me, a lovely man, sorely missed.
Sad to hear that Mike has been taken from us too soon. Condolences to Zena and family. A wonderful service to remember Mike by. RIP Mike Dennis & Deanna Eagle
Mike, it is with heavy heart I remember the friendship we began since we met, both being posted to Singapore at the same time. Then there, as my Best Man, your and Zina’s guidance into married life was invaluable. Some of which included the loan of Zina’s wedding dress and her cooking lessons. The bond we have shared over the past 52 years has remained strong and the memories treasured. Our thoughts are with Zina, Christopher and Sandra. Farewell my Friend. Rest in Peace. Terry and Shirley Rae.
