Passed away surrounded by friends and family after a short stay in hospital. Much loved father of Ashan and Kaiya. 
A memorial service to celebrate Guy's life will be held at Parnell Cricket Clubrooms, 32 Shore Road on 21 November at 4.00pm.

On Thursday 21 November from 12-1pm at Davis Funeral Home, 150 Central Park Drive, Henderson there will be an opportunity for those who want to say their final farewell to Guy (open casket). This will be followed by a private family cremation.

Dearest Gayan Mallie I am so saddened to hear of your passing. My fond memories of you as a toddler and then as a teenager will live in my heart forever. Rest in peace now. Ashan, Kaiya and Mahesha - my deepest condolences for your loss. My thoughts are with you.

"I'll pick you up".... while a long time ago, it was a frequent act; I can still hear him saying it. Guy was up for anything, anytime which is what made him such a character. Wiri as he was affectionately known was a good friend and great sportsman who at one point was one of the best keepers in Auckland cricket. While I live in another Country I was always happy for you when I heard what great kids you had. I was very sad to hear you were no longer with us. Rest in peace Wiri.

I have many fond memories of Guy from school and cricket days. He was a humble man who never fully realised how good he actually was at cricket. I was so sad to learn of his passing - he deserved much longer. My condolences to his family. RIP Weeras.
