Tributes

I have known Mick off and on since the early 1980’s, when we met Mick and Christine in Chiswick, London through Lance and Henri. Sheila and I always loved seeing you two. Many years later when you both came back to London from NZ to work, we saw more of you both which was great. I was sometimes working away from home, so I was always pleased to know that when I was away Sheila was out with you two for a curry. When we visited NZ, we always wanted to spend time you both, we really felt welcomed by you and we so enjoyed your company. Lots of laughs and good times, lots of stories from Mick. I got closer to Mick in the last few years when he was staying with me in London for a little while. We would have great chats over the Guiness Zero’s or the occasional full-strength glass of red. We watched the whole of Waldemar Januszczak’s 4-part series on the French Impressionist painters together in one evening with a bottle of red and dreamed of France. Mick was a guy who when he came to stay, my place was in better condition after he left than it was before he arrived. Those loose tiles on the steps to the flat are still solid Mick, just like you. Mick you were a solid guy, a top guy, I will miss you dearly. Dave
