Derrick died peacefully, on 23 September 2025 at Evelyn Page Retirement Village, Orewa, aged 92 years.

Much loved husband of the late Olive.

Dearly loved father and father-in-law of David and Sue, Carol, Howard and Julie, Bruce, Paul and Janine.

Loved Poppa of Stephen, Sharon, Andrew, Jason, Shannon, Dylan, Kyle, and Samantha.

A private family service was held at Puhoi Cemetery.
