Tributes

We have been extremely fortunate to have known George & Kathleen over many years. We especially enjoyed our time together with them & Peter & Karen on the Alaskan Cruise. We were able to visit them in Westport & then in Kerikeri when they moved there & again to join in the celebrations for George’s 90th birthday & of course catching up with them on the Sunshine Coast. George was a gentle man as well as a Gentleman. He could relate to all age groups & was much loved by so many. When we think of George, it always brings a smile to our faces. We are much richer for having George as our dear friend & like all the family we have many wonderful memories to treasure. Love from Rosslyn & Des

My growing years at Granity were in large spent at Uncle Abs garage spending time with my older cousins Ollie and Georgehelping where I could, but always learning about life.Ollie the outgoing George the quiet, thoughtful, patient one. Cousins who were my childhood heroes. Ollie called George Pogie but he had a nickname for everyone. Thank you George for the example of the life you led,and thank you for the cousin you were.

I will always hold dear my visit to Kerikeri in June and the wonderful times we spent together but also the time spent with your Dad at lunches and our special trip to Russell. What a wonderful man who knew how to make the most of his life. A special person indeed. With love to you all, Anne
