Loving husband of 43 years to Karen, father of Katherine, and father-in-law to Shane.
A service to celebrate Des's life will be held at The North Harbour Chapel of Dils Funeral Services at 185 Schnapper Rock Rd, Albany at 10.30 am on Saturday 30 November 2024.
He will be greatly missed. May he rest in Peace.

Des and I were great mates at Mount Cook and Wellington and I will never forget our relationship and his support to me for the few years that I knew him. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Murray Woodward
Many members of the Auckland Natural History Walking Club will remember the great times when Des was leader of walks. His sense of humour, his knowledge of NZ history and his admiration of native trees. Rest in peace, Des.
