Goodbye Francis (Leroy) we did the teens together growing up in Gisborne, in the late 70’s under the watchful eye of Francis George Senior (George). Many good memories and many laughs down at the beach, 6 teen boys all in OP shirts and sunnies checking out the local ladies. When we really wanted to be posh on the beach a 25l box of Blenheimer was acquired and then we would use the empty bag as a float in the sea. Real sophisticated we were! I remember borrowing a bottle of George Senior’s Waikato XXXX once and Francis and I both deciding it just wasn’t for us…what a turn of events……
Thoughts with you all family and friends.. Have a lot of good early memories of the days in 29 kea st . Rotorua. Love Graham & mona Kia kaha.
Sending you all our love and hugs. We will always remember those holidays spent on Kea Street in Rotorua. Mum (Aunty Gloria) recalls when Francie (this is what Mum called him) and Justin were climbing up the kitchen cupboards like mischievous monkeys to get to the cereal and she was afraid Francie would fall, and how Francie looked up to his big sister Sarah, and Dad (Uncle Clive), says he was known as one of the “Munsters”. Granny being the one naming Francis and Justin the “Munsters”. We remember when Francis would come out boating and fishing with us, and he was Dads (Uncle Clive) first one to try out his homemade water sledge he built at your guy’s home in Kea St. I think he was Dads (Uncle Clive) guinea pig, and we thought (Maree, Bevan) he wanted to go faster, and we told Dad to “go faster” but he got tangled up in the ropes. Sorry, that was our bad. Louise recalls back to the times we spent together, playing at the school just across the road and every opportunity Francis got on riding his motorbike. Many more stories we could tell of our nephew / cousin who had the biggest smile and a heart of adventure.
Sorry to hear of Francis accident. I have many happy memories of the times we spent together as kids. Francis will be missed. Our deepest condolences. Much love to you all. Love Toni, Phil, Abigail, Josh, Aunty Veronica and Tim
