Peacefully at Jean Sandel Rest Home on Wednesday, 27 November 2024 aged 79. Dearly loved wife of the late Robert. Cherished mother and mother-in-law of Kathy & Darryl and Stuart & Philippa. Loved Nana and Gran of Alexia, Mikaela, Blake, Emily and Hannah.

A private cremation has been held. A memorial for Shirley will be held on Friday 24 January at 11am at The Picton Centre, Howick.

Tributes
On behalf of the committee and members of the Howick Tennis Club I wish to express our deepest sympathies to Shirley's family on her passing. Shirley had a great love of tennis and was passionate in her support of the club, being club President when we held our centenary celebrations in 2002. She played interclub, midweek ladies, veterans tennis and was a great supporter of club events. We will inform our members of Shirley's memorial service to be held in Howick on Friday 24 January 2025 so that they can pay their final respects to one of our loyal members. We were very saddened to hear of Shirley's passing. Shirley was very involved at the Howick Tennis Club, helping on the Junior Committee when I was involved as Junior Convenor. She played Midweek Tennis and became President at the Club some years' ago. Shirley was very diligent in her role as President and the Club appreciated her input.
