Panther, Conway Melville,

Born 8th August 1930 and left us 27th November 2024.

Sadly fought and lost a short but vicious battle with Cancer. Lived a full and varied life for 94 years.

Conway spent his early teaching years completing his country service in the Manawatu. He then taught in Whangarei at both the primary and intermediate schools and moved on to Auckland where he was the founder Principal at Churchill Park Primary. He then moved on to posts as Principal at Glendowie Primary, Mt Roskill Intermediate and Wellsford Area School. He retired to a life in horticulture, animal breeding and thoroughbred horse racing.

Loved father of Gael, Debbie, Janet, Michael, Carolyn and Craig - we have all benefited from his wisdom and his grandchildren and great grandchildren will have the ability to relive the early settlers’ stories and photographs from Victoria Valley in the Far North for years to come.

According to his wishes a private graveside ceremony has been held to celebrate Con’s life.
