I am grateful to have so many happy memories from the times Uncle Rog visited. With the earliest being Wellington and the story behind him! But also parking up on the drive in the camper van and trips into Wycombe to find frying pans. As well as trips further afield to watch him play croquet. Uncle Rog always took an interest in what I was up to, especially with the school music department. The physical distance never felt that far when there were phone calls in the middle of All Blacks rugby matches. I will always miss Uncle Rog’s visits that led to the unexpected and the emails from Y.O.U.R. but there are lots of memories to be treasured.

My earliest memories are from childhood when my Uncle would arrive always with a sweet gift. We would ride on a Slipper launch from Henley on Thames and picnic on the river bank. When he visited ,when my son was young, Uncle Rog was a big influence in reviving Josh’s love of Golf. He also bought interesting foods for me to cook ! His visits always seemed to end too soon. I am Thankful for the times I did see him and the memories made. Scilla and Murray.

Roger was such a unique, larger than life character. He was spontaneous and generous. He loved classical music, art, and books. He was always interested and interesting to talk to.We will miss him very much, his visits, phone calls and emails. So privileged to have had such a special uncle.
