Dear Gloria, News of your passing has been so hard to come to terms with. Your presence for the past ten years has been a blessing to those of us who were privileged to know you. Always so available and helpful when needed, your kindness showed through with your smile. I will truly miss you. My sincere sympathies go out to Tom and family.
I've had the pleasure of working with Gloria at the museum for the last ten years. Along the way she became a friend that you knew would always be there to help with whatever project we were working on in either the History Group or Collections. It really won't be the same without you. It was a pleasure to know you Gloria. Rest in peace. My thoughts are with you Tom.
I'm deeply saddened to have to even be writing a tribute to Gloria. Although she preferred to avoid fuss, I want to acknowledge the impact she had on me. It was an absolute pleasure to work alongside someone as dependable, selfless, and kind-hearted. Gloria would quietly tackle tasks that needed attention, never seeking recognition or praise. Her strong work ethic, honesty and dedication to the Collections team were qualities I deeply respect. On Monday, walking into the museum’s back room without Gloria was a poignant reminder of her absence. Gloria, I'll miss our chats. Rest in peace. You certainly deserve it my friend.
So sad to hear this news, Gloria was a very inspiring boss and work colleague at Auckland hospital and then again at Ascot Hospital, always a kindly ear and confidant, condolences to her family, farewell Gloria, prayers and blessings
Thank you Gloria for the many hours you gave to the Museum. Not only working on many textile items but always willing to give a hand her and there. You left your mark definitely there. In the early days of the Education team you created a copy of a 19th Century girls apron. For school-kids to try on when they came to the Museum. We already owned a little girls version but boys were just as keen to try it on too. Without hesitation you made a larger size. However what I remember most is your kindness and lovely smile. Rest in Peace Gloria. Annette
What a treasure Gloria was and how we shall miss her. A beautiful friendly person always ready to offer her help at a moments notice. Rest in peace Gloria Tom, We offer our deepest sy.pathy to you and the family. Love Christine and Bill.
Gloria was such a devoted volunteer and worked tirelessly for her community. What is more, her positivity and can-do attitude made her a delight to work with for me and so many others. RIP Gloria.
Gloria gave. She was a giver. She worked hard and her energy matched a 30yo. She’ll be missed by all at the museum.
