Tributes

VB, Vaughan or how I know you “Raisin” I so wish I could have been there today but watching the live screen and hearing the beautiful tributes from so many just shows how you have touched so many people’s lives. I do hope my Engineer Brothers that are there, share many more memories of you today. I’ll raise a glass for you my friend, and reminisce, how you changed my life and made me a better person for knowing you. Rest easy my Friend Ubique

Biggest sadness hearing of your passing Vaughn, never forget the farm in Nelson, all my love to Tiara and Autumn we love you both so much x

Every year or so, your truck would rock up in the driveway unannounced. It brought with it clouds of vape steam (lol) and so much fun! I expected years more of that - more crazy laughter, and you and Matt yarning on the deck in your 70s. You would have had plenty of good stuff to remember!! This is way too soon mate. But what a way to live a life - at full tilt and loved by everyone. Thanks for everything. You take care out there xo

Sappers

Dear Uncle Vaughan, I miss you and I love you. Thank you for being such a special person to me.

I was friends with Raisin many years ago as young men in the army. He always had a smile on his face. My favourite memory of him was- him going missing at work after a night on the booze. He was found by the boss underneath a large coil of rope sleeping a headache off. Great hiding spot Raisin but not good enough! Rest in Peace my old friend.

Emmett Craik

My memory of Vaughan was one of those people who always made you smile just by walking into your day. His enthusiasm for living life to the tune of his own music was infectious and inspiring. He was a free spirit who has sadly been taken too soon. Ubique brother.

My sincere Condolences to Vaughan’s family and to everyone that knew and loved him. It was my privilege to have served with him in the Royal New Zealand Engineers many moons ago. He was a true friend and loved by all those that served alongside him. You will be missed brother. Ubique

Oh such sad news. I'll remember Vaughan as being a loving & caring dad, hardworking, but also very laid back, and with a great laugh. He had many abilities, which to him seemed to come naturally, but he was never arrogant about it. He was also a good thinker, and often brought a new perspective to things - which is good. Love and hugs to you all at this time. Em
