Tributes

Leo and Erika are my benefactors, having accepted me when I studied abroad in New Zealand. Leo taught me not only English, but also how to be a person and how to think, with love. He is a wise man and a very important person to me. The things he taught me will continue to support me and live on in my heart. I would like to convey my gratitude and may he rest in peace.

I cherish the time I spent in NZ with Leo and Erica while studying and staying at their home. They truly felt like second parents, showering me with care and making me feel so welcome. Leo was a vibrant and adventurous spirit, always eager to share his life experiences and bring joy to our days. You will forever hold a special place in my heart.

We have known Leo and Erica for about 18 years. Met on a cruise and immediately clicked. Have him a surprise visit for his 60th and the expression on his face was priceless. An amazing person all round. We are proud to have called him our friend. Trevor and Julienne

Leo was my one true friend he was like a brother to me. The adventures and memories we shared are just to many to mention. As kindred souls we shared so much in common that our families spent so much time together, we felt like one big family. We enjoyed sharing or passions for the outdoors, music (he was a brilliant musician and entertainer) and family. Leo was a fantastic man, husband, father and friend. He will be truly missed. You are no longer in pain my friend, rest in peace

Very Sad to hear of Uncle Leo's passing. Leo and Erica were my parents closest friends when we grew up, and we spent our childhood with them as Uncle and Auntie and adopted cousies to all the kids. Uncle Leo was such a kind and gentle man, and growing up especially I have such fond memories of all the great fun times with all of the family and Uncle Leo was always super engaging with us kids and had an awesome sense of humour. I have lived overseas as an adult so unfortunately have not had as much time personally in my adult years. My heart goes out to all of the family, much love from me, and i will remember and celebrate the life and memories of a great man Big HUGS
