Well my friend this has come as a shock. I will carry memories of our 30 year friendship with me until my last. From our time as rugby team mates for Hornby (red devils) and also being neighbours in Arcon Drive. Most Saturdays involved a 24 pack each being consumed with our old catch cry "Arcon Drive For Life" Memories of you trying to staunch me out and you laughing from my ignoring your attempts (top picture is one of these attempts). Me taking you on my pre season runs up the port hills with you hating every second but still pushing thru and completing the task. It was a sad day when you decided it was time to move north but such is life. We always managed to keep in touch, even if it was sporadically. The world is a better place for having had you in it my friend. Until we meet again. Scott
Dear Chris, I met you in 1975 at Te Aute. You had zing, strength of character and weren't afraid of anything. Your charismatic cheekiness and laughter lit up those cold and dark days and you were a flash of lightning on the rugby paddock. You weren't afraid of anything and never backed down. So it was somewhat unsurprising Te Aute was too small for you and they eventually kicked you out. But so what? Their loss aye, you just said "F them" and went on to forge the life you wanted while spreading your mana along every path you took. In your passing I pay my respects to your Mum & Dad, your 3 brothers, partner, descendants, and the whole Cribb & Corbett whānau. To my brother Robert Wayne & Charloteer I love you with all my heart. Finally to my Te Aute brothers, thank you for standing for me and the other old boys who couldn't attend in person. Whakatangata Kia Kaha. Arohanui, Patrick T Bristowe.
You were a hard man enjoyed life to the fullness and will be sorely missed you'll see Hori! Up there say hello from me.Arohanui"
