Hine-Uira Te Paea Wikiriwhi-Swann, aged 72, passed away peacefully on 29 September 2025, surrounded by love after a courageous journey with myeloma.

Beloved wife of Kennedy, cherished mother to Daniel and Teresa, proud Nana to Luna, sister to Maemae and Eru, and adored aunty to James, Turongo, Nicholas, and Nina, great aunt to Olivia, and kuia figure to all.
Hine will be remembered for her warmth, humour, and her gift for making everyone feel at home.
Of her father Matarehua Wikiriwhi and her mother Jean Hine-Uira Moke, she carried her whakapapa close to her heart and lived with deep love for te ao Māori.

Her fur baby, Bubba, was her treasured companion, and she remained a ball of light in the lives of those who loved her.

A faithful Seventh-day Adventist, Hine held fast to her belief in Jesus’ promise of resurrection and eternal life. Her strength, courage, and gratitude even in the face of illness remain an inspiration to us all.

A service to celebrate Hine’s life will be held on Friday, 3 October 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Ponsonby Seventh-day Adventist Church, followed by a cremation at Davis Funeral Home.
